ISM Community (Top Ten, Mailing Lists and More)
You might well notice some changes on the home page of the ISM Community portal today.
The portal hasn’t really had much TLC for a while and its been hard to find things and participate. That is changing. Today we installed the enterprise email gateway. This allows you to subscribe to a forum as if it were a mailing list. In fact its the best of both worlds, its both a mailing list and a forum. You can start, receive and reply to discussions using email or online via the web site and even both at the same time. It’s your choice. We are having some configuration challenges with receiving and processing mail so the upgrade is not complete but you can subscribe to receive new threads via email for the Risk Management forum now and within a few days I am sure well have it all ironed out. As soon as we have this major upgrade completed I will send out an email and we enable it on all the forums.
Login and poke around at this URL if you are interested in the mailing lists.

The ISM Top Ten is officially live now including tips and tricks from some CISO’s from major banks (whose legal depts didn’t want their names used) and folks from great companies like Orbitz and Dell. It’s a really good document.

http://www.securitylinkup.com is also live in beta to manage ISM Community Chapters all over the world. It does still have lots of bugs sadly (thats why its beta) and needing some features added but we do have some developers scheduled to work on it and within a few weeks it should be very usable and be a great tool to organize face-to-face meetings all over the world. You can sign up and use it today to register you city for an ISM Chapter and then organize your first meeting. If you sign up now do be sure to be patient with us and report bugs and feature requests!
