The Oldest Parliament in the World

If you, like me (in this very modern day and age) setup Google alerts for  news of public activity relating to your surname; you will know that there actually is a world well beyond your immediate perspective (like information security). I for instance am always inundated by news alerts about old autopsy findings, things happening in Jamaica, a bunch of recruiters in LA or a journalist in London. I always knew my family heritage came from the Isle of Man but I didn’t know until today when I watched BBC Coast that the Isle of Man has the oldest recorded parliament at over 1,000 years old.

Disclaimer: I have never been to the Isle of Man but it was very good to me a few years ago when I was able to benefit from its very favorable tax laws.

Sure, alerting on your last name works for a Curphey, but if you’re last name is Smith, you might as well give up. =) http://www.guerilla-ciso.com/archives/17
