Security Linkup Beta 0.2 Now Deployed

Security LinkUp Beta 0.2 is now deployed at

http://www.securitylinkup.com

This is 100% free, no ads and no catches. Even the code is released under an MIT license and the placeholder EULA will go in the next release with the most simple possible I can get away with (”Dont sue me or do anything naughty and its your to use with no restrictions”) .

There is a bunch of sample data for the Spies-R-Us fake community that you can browse to from the landing page.

Warning: this is not yet ready for general public consumption although feel free to browse and play. I suspect two or three more releases (two or three more weeks if we find the time) and it will be fairly usable at which time we can start adding new features and tailoring it to peoples specific needs.  If you do register and want to start using it now (I have not yet deployed the SSL cert) please send me a mail letting me know so I can follow along closely and get things fixed as you find them. I will make sure the DB stays intact from now onwards while the code around it changes.

It is now open source under an MIT license, and we are actively looking for .NET developers who can help with bug fixing, new features etc.  After a stable first release we plan to focus on usability and ensure it will work for informal groups who meet in bars and formal groups who wants agendas and meeting minutes.

You can register bugs in our issue tracker here.

Open source developers interested in working on this application (and having some fun along the way) please contact me directly via email (mark at curphey dot com).

Note: There is a known bug where the registration activation email (used to slow down simple bots) doesn’t always appear. I am working on this now although it may not be fixed until Beta 0.3. It doesn’t work with Safari right now. Yes standards based CSS is still a pig to get right!
