Maybe the next in this series should be a spoof on Pieter Bruegel’s gothic visionary painting “The Triumph of Death”, replete with IT staff being tortured with meaningless checklists, their resources stretched out on the rack of contextless audit findings, and their budgets hacked to pieces by having to implement stupid log analysis tools…..
By the way, I had a state Auditor actually tell me that GLBA mandated encryption of sensitive data.
Being an auditor means never having to say you’re sorry for talking complete horse.

I once worked at a company whose helpdesk used to tell me it ws a SOX violation to have a username that didn’t match the birth certificate name.
They also refused to reset passwords on ex-employees as this was also a SOX violation.
Maybe the BOFH needs a helpdesk buddy!
