SourceClear Influencers Program

In the next few weeks or so we are about to enter a new phase at SourceClear. The thinking is done and now the coding begins in earnest. As our products start to become reality, we want to get as much feedback about what we are planning to build as is possible and use that feedback to influence and shape our designs and product plans. We want to build products that people want, need and of course products people will actually buy. Most of all we want to avoid the trap that we see day-in-and-day-out where companies are building products primarily for themselves and then trying to find or create a market.

Our products are designed to help manage the often complex and dynamic day-to-day lives of information security teams and people. And when we say manage we don’t mean borg like; we mean make them easier, less complex, more efficient and more effective. Over the last decade we know first-hand from working with companies of all sizes, all over the world, that most people are facing the same issues as each other. We hear the same things come up time and time again. In fact we plan to build products that reflect what fellow security folks have asked us for and we wanted to build but were never in the position to do so.

Our company mantra is Connecting People, Process and Technology™ and we are creating an extensible platform and applications to do just that. We of course understand that everyone has different needs and that what we are building won’t suit everyone but we would like to solicit feedback and input from a wide variety of people who can and want to help us shape our direction. If you work in a corporate information role or as a security consultant specializing in information security management we would love to invite you to our SourceClear Influencers program. That’s a grand name for saying, we want to open an ongoing dialog with you! We are listening.

You may well be saying “what’s in it for me” at this stage (and rightly so). Apart from the obvious of being able to shape and influence information security management software that is genuinely useful (and that you might actually want and need to make your life better), we will make it simple and easy to interact with us AND we will make it worth your while with a small amount of stock options in our company to say thank you for your time. I also know of many large corporate information security departments that have been asking for what we are building in our prototype for a few years but were been unable to get it funded or approved internally for a variety of reasons. For you good folks, I have some creative ideas to make your dreams become reality as well.

So what exactly do we want in return? We are looking for people who are facing the facets of information security management today and can look at our solutions (designs and early prototype initially) objectively as they evolve and tell us what will and what won’t work. We will take that feedback and shape our designs and products. For anyone that has built software the Agile way this is part of the Agile manifesto. For anyone else it’s just common sense. Listen to the people who are in the know.

So if you work for a corporate information security department or are a security consultant specializing in information security management and like us, think there should be much better tools to manage your day-to-day corporate information security life we want to hear from you.

Like anything in life there are a few small considerations we should mention up front such as an NDA, obvious non-competition stuff, your current employment contract allowing you to do this and a dead simple two way agreement to make sure we meet your expectations etc..etc, but we are very flexible and this should not get in the way of anyone at least talking to us.

We hope to hear from you and look forward to working with you!
